As always, I loved everything you all linked up. It was all so creative and my list of 'to do' grows and grows each week!! Its fun though so I am glad! There were really some amazing ideas this week. I could have featured them all...but since that would take forever, here are a few I picked out.
Impatiently Praying for Patience has these TOO cute candlesticks. These are going to the top of my to do list. I want them...no, I NEED them!!
I am loving these paperclips from Lovely Paper Blog. They would be so cute on a stack of papers on my desk. They look so easy to make too.
I just saw these sunglasses by Lemon Tree Creations and thought how cool! I could totally see these on a table in an entryway to add some pizazz.
I have been in need of a bigger thread holder that is sturdy. I am really likin' this one that Sugar Bee Craft Edition put together. Such a great idea!
This headboard has such a wow factor. I love all of the possibilities with this too. I want to run out and get a door to make this with. What flair it adds to Brassy Apple's bedroom too.

This is an old project I did but one I thought I should share. I thought those crayon rolls were so fun that I kept seeing around. So about a year or so ago, I decided to make one for my little guy and a friend who was having a baby. I didn't think it was necessary to reinvent this tutorial since there were so many great ones out there already. So I mainly used the one here at Skip to My Lou...love her blog! I tried one square and one with rounded corners. Still not sure which one I like more.
However, I didn't have one of those nifty nylon stops she had and I really wanted to finish the project that day without running to the store.
So instead of that, I used an unused pony tail holder. I just sewed the silver part into the crayon roll holder. It is so nice and easy enough for my little guy to fasten and unfasten himself. I have loved having this crayon roll and it is a must have in my Sunday bag I talked about here. The iron on vinyl keeps the fabric nice so you don't have a bunch of crayon marks from little ones taking the crayons in and out over and over again! (Oh, and sorry about the bad pics on my nasty ol' vinyl floor in our old place...these were taken last year like I said and I wasn't as into making sure I had a good background for my projects!!)
My first move is over with. So glad to be done with that one! I had to share a tip...one I meant to share before but the move took a bit longer than I had anticipated. Two little kiddos make every move go WAY longer than it should.
One thing that has made past moves and this one too go a bit smoother is buying a mattress cover. I figure there is nothing grosser than having an expensive mattress get all nasty and dirty from sitting in storage or from being on a moving truck. We have bought these mattress bags for our mattress our last few moves and have been so grateful for them.
They not only keep your mattress clean but they also make it slippery on the bottom which enables you to just scoot it along the carpet or wherever to get it into your moving truck. Mattresses, especially king sized ones, are just big and floppy. This makes them so hard to move. But with one of these mattress covers, it is so much easier. (No I am not getting compensation from Uhaul for saying this....I am sure you can buy these at other moving places too.) I just really think it is worth the 5 bucks to protect your mattress.
Oh, and I have some fun home decor/renovation stuff to share with you soon too. We have been sick and so I have been sluggish and not in the mood for blogging. I am on my way back though so I should have some craftiness soon enough!

Alright, well enough about me and on to the reason I am here today.
I always think you need to have a fun inviting kitchen, especially for those that don't love to cook. I definitely don't hate it, but I think my biggest strengths may be in other areas. But regardless of your cookin' skills, having a cute kitchen just makes you want to spend more time there! 
So when I saw these cute pictures, I knew I wanted them in my kitchen. The only problem is that I could not find a frame to fit them. Square frames are just hard to come by. I looked everywhere. I know I could have gotten a custom made frame but those are WAY out of my budget. I decided to make my own (with a bit of help from my step-dad). 
We used poplar wood because it is a nice wood and it looks great painted. However, it is a tad more expensive so you could always use pine or something more cheap if you are painting it anyway.
We used a tongue and groove style corner to bring the corners of our frame together. I know you can do this even simpler by cutting both pieces at a 45 degree angle and just gluing it together that way. Then you could make these with a miter box and saw if that is all you have available to you. By the way, did you know you can buy a miter box and saw for about $8? I know, super cheap!
Then because my step-dad is such a great wood worker, we cut out grooves in the back for the glass and picture to fit into and for the hardware on the back to hold it in place. We spray painted these black because I am pretty much obsessed with that color in my decor.
We also put a jigsaw hanger on the back to hang it up on the wall. Then we used a piece of glass he had and cut it to fit into each one. But if you are going cheap, I say who needs glass? It isn't mandatory and when it is high up on the wall, no one can tell the difference anyway.
So I used a piece of cardboard cut to fit and a thick poster board to fill in the space of my frame.
I put the pictures in each frame and the backing and closed it up. Now I can't decide which one is my favorite. I love the bright green of the tomato one and the zesty yellow of the lemon.
I also love this green with the salad and the red with the bottle of oil.
The bright colors and the crisp thick black frames set these off on my wall. I must say, I think I love them! And it makes me enjoy being in my kitchen that much more!
